British women hoping for a chance to represent some of the world’s most exclusive hair extensions are celebrating an extended deadline for the HD Girl 2016 competition. Hopefuls for Hair Development’s competition in which women can win a full head of extensions and a professional photoshoot now have until December 31st to post their selfies on social media.
The unique competition has already had an impressive response, with ladies posting and tagging images on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook in a bid to become the HD Girl 2016. Finalists were due to be announced in November after the original October 31st closing date, but the company has decided to extend the deadline to give more women the opportunity to enter.
Janis Levy, Creative Director of Hair Development said, “We recently promoted the competition at Salon International in London, and found that many people within the industry were really interested. However HD Girl 2016 isn’t just for hairdressers, stylists and beauty bloggers – we want the general public to get involved so we have a huge variety of women to choose from. We need a selection of ages, hair types and skin tones to represent all women in the finals.”
Janis added, “Plus, it makes sense to extend the deadline until the end of year, as we need to find our brand ambassador for 2016. Our HD Girl should be announced by March 21st 2016 so then they can enjoy being a part of the HD team for the rest of the year.”
The competition is open to any woman living in the UK aged 18-45. The chosen HD Girl will win an incredible extension makeover worth £795, then take part in a professional photoshoot. The images will be used on all of HD’s marketing and promotional material for the entire year. Additionally, the winner will act as a make appearances at industry events.
To be in with a chance of winning the prize and becoming a brand ambassador for Hair Development, all women have to do is upload a photograph to social media. They can choose their preferred platform between Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and need to tag Hair Development as well as using the hashtag #HDGirlCompetition.
