Hair Development’s Celebrity Creative Director Invited on Jo Good’s BBC Radio London Show

BBC Radio London host Jo Good last week invited Hair Development’s Creative Director Janis Levy onto her regular show as a celebrity guest on Friday 6th June.  As a special guest Janis spoke to Jo about her past career in show business, her life in Hollywood and how it has effected and influenced her involvement in the hair extensions and replacement therapy industry.

Janis started her modelling and acting career at the tender age of seventeen when she appeared in one of the infamous Cadbury’s Flake commercials.  At a time when television advertisements were paramount, the commercial was aired for 9 years worldwide and it acted as an intense springboard for Janis’ stardom.  Her career took her to Los Angeles for 12 years where she worked with famous stars such as Janis Paige, Bill Maher, Linda Hamilton and Pierce Brosnan.

After answering Jo’s insightful questions about the Hollywood lifestyle, Janis then went on to discuss her family business Hair Development.  Established in 1963 by her father Stan, Janis is now the acting Creative Director for the company which are industry leaders in hair extensions and hair replacement methods.  Along with Stan Levy, the CEO, Janis’ cousin Mark Burns is also Hair Development’s Managing Director so the friendly company are very much a family affair.  With an abundance of celebrity clients, Hair Development is unique in the business as Janis understands the needs and demands of the celebrity way of life.

Janis Levy, Creative Director of Hair Development, said, “Having lived the demanding celeb lifestyle myself, I have experienced everything first hand including sitting in hair and make-up trailers for hours on end.  This ignited a passion in me to help celebrities in regards to their hair, which is why we are well known across the world as one of the most prestigious providers of hair extensions and for investing in training academies for our extensionists.

I believe my background in show business gives Hair Development an unprecedented position in the industry, as no other hair specialists can state they have a partner and director who has extensive knowledge and experience of fame and the pressure it entails.”

Hair Development has been at the leading edge of professional hair extension systems for over 50 years, and caters for men and women.  As well as supplying its high quality human hair extensions to the retail market they have also been involved in a number of esteemed professional and famous projects.  Their specialist products have been seen in Vogue magazine and featured on TV and film productions such as Pirates of the Caribbean and Strictly Come Dancing. They also specialise in hair replacement therapies which can help men and women suffering from common struggles such as alopecia or the effects of chemotherapy.

“In addition to Hair Development’s 5 decades of expertise and celebrity reputation, we are also the only company recommended by the Trichology Society,” added Janis.
