Spring is well and truly upon us, as May bank holidays are rapidly approaching and the days are starting to last a little longer. But a change in seasons automatically means a change in trends – have you read up on this year’s spring hair trends yet? Chunky braids

We are loving this relaxed, boho style and the best thing about it is there are so many options to choose from, you could sport a different look each day. Spring/summer is the perfect time to wear a braid, as it gets long hair out of your face and off your neck, and instantly gives the “straight from the beach” look. Celebrity lovers of the chunky braid include Blake Lively, Selena Gomez and Nicole Scherzinger. Whether it’s a central braid, a side fish plait or two chunky braids or plaits, anything goes in 2015. Any type of plait weaved into a loose ‘down’ hairstyle also adds a point of interest and completes any festival look. Long bobs

The long bob is definitely back, with Fearne Cotton and Lauren Conrad currently rocking the style and making it look so easy and effortless! (We’re not sure whether to include Kim Kardashian’s drastic style change in the long bob category)? Long bobs are a great choice for spring as they match beautifully with girly dresses and skirts and can be made edgier with a fringe. But beware, they aren’t as low maintenance as they look, and many hair styles are easier to create with longer hair.

Pixelated hair

Yes you read that right…we weren’t sure exactly what this meant either! Apparently it’s the new colour trend which is overtaking ombre as 2015’s must-have. It was spotted on Revlon’s AW14 campaign, and it basically makes your head look like it’s in a retro video game. Jagged shots of colour are applied, usually near the roots or on the back of the head in blocks and uneven lines. Who will be asking their stylist for this?!
