Top Festival Hair Trends

Festival season is well and truly upon us, so if you haven’t already it’s time to check out this year’s hottest festival looks.  Camping for days can wreak havoc on your hair, but with these casual, effective hairstyles you’ll have people thinking you’re sharing a tent with a professional stylist!

Plaits

Wherever there is a large gathering on a field, you can guarantee that at least 50% of all women will be sporting some sort of plait.  No other hairstyle emulates the hippy, boho chic style that festivals welcome with open arms.  Get creative with your plaits to stand out from the crowd; plait or braid the front of your hair depending on your parting, or use lots of little plaits all around the head to spice up a down style.

High Messy Bun

Top-head buns have been on the scene for a few seasons now, but it’s really easy to give it a festival twist.  Start with a messy ponytail, with bits of hair left out if you have layers or a fringe.  From there, use a donut or scrunch hair into a bun and secure.  Finish off with a flower headband wrapped around the base, for a stylish but practical festival up-do!

Multi Buns

By the end of the weekend, you probably won’t be able to get a brush through your matted hair and at a loss with that to do with it.  90’s style is definitely making a comeback, so why not scrape it all back into two, three or four small buns?  This quirky style is great for getting hair off your face and looks impressive with the current ombre trend.

Bright colours

There’s no better time to experiment with hair colour than at a festival.  Dip dye is all the rage this year, and playful colours such as turquoise, pink and purple are popular on the festival scene.
